dc.description.transcription | Fryday [sic] night
Dear Addison
Glad to get your letter. We have been to busy to write all week. The little boy was very fretful Monday and Tuesday, at would cry out when being moved the least bit seemed to be in pain. Tuesday night we discovered that his little p___ was all swollen. Lyman had the Dr. come to see him Wendsday [sic]. They had to perform an operation [sic] It was quite a serious one. They had to give him Cloriform [sic] He was on the table a half an hour. It was Circumcision I suppose. It should have been done when he was a few days old...It is very sore, and raw we sat up with him. Lyman does most of it he is certainly a whole team when I comes to taking care of the babies. I don’t know how long it will be till this place is well. He is such a patient little things, has to lay on his back all the time. We cant take him. Sister takes him up long enough to nurse. I cant tell yet what to do about going to B. We don’t have any time to sew. I don’t see how Bessie can do what is to be done her by her self. I don’t feel like I ought to off now. Sister insists that I go. L. wants to be getting on home. But it don’t look like the baby boy, can travel soon. How long before we have to start. Our expenses will be heavy this month and I don’t feel like I ought get the things that I will have to get if I take the trip. I don’t want you to miss the Convention though. I think we surely can tell in a few days about the babe.
Much love
Sallie. | |
