Sunday night Mar. 24. My Dear Son, The time for writing has come again. The days are swiftly passing now, and the home coming will soon be here. Oh! how glad we will all be I don’t think I ever saw so late a spring in Texas. March is almost gone and the fruit tree not in bloom and it is so very dry that nothing can come up this has been an exceedingly warm day. These early warm days as much as in July and August. I just commenced today putting the milk in the trough. Sister Papa and Zemmie took dinner from home today. Papa came home to the Endeavor this evening but walked back to Grandbury to preach tonight I did hate for him to walk he is not at all well is taking a cold and that makes any one feel so bad. We all have been sick with colds this week except Sister, Carlie and Bessie got theirs coming from the entertainment at Grandbury the other night. Roy’s cough is getting some better. We have commenced a new treatment with Zemmie. I do hope it will help her it is the Electrolisis. I know you have seen it advertised it is highly recommended for P______. The instrument will cost us twenty dollars. $10 now and $10 in two months but we feel that we must try it if there is any chance to benefit her. Just commenced last night. I expect we will have to use it on her some time before we can tell that it is helping her. I fear the school will be small from this on a good many are going home and I don’t expect any new one will come in. I am try to write and tend to Zemmie so I am making a poor out writing. Zemmie is writing to Blanche we want her to come commencement. We enjoyed her stay with us last year and will be glad to have her back. I guess papa told you the arangement that he go out and you come in school next year will sent Maj. Jarvis and Cap. Scott. I will leave Sister to tell you about the entertainment and about the Waltons electing the one to whom they will give the Meddle. I will stop now it is so lonesome the children have gone to bed and Sister and Carlie have not come home yet. Much love, Mama.
