Dear Brother and Sister:
I ought to have written to you last week and would had I have had an opportunity, but I was at work helping the Maj. On the Mill – it starts today. Nothing happening. Berne Young has been staying in the store for me – I saw the judge and attorney and they would not let me off - and there is no prospect of my getting off – no prospect of the case coming up before next week if then – have just had a talk with his lawyer – Jordan's I mean – he says that he is doubtful about its coming up before the last week in court – if so it will put the time of our visit off till near the 1st of Aug.
We will come if we can but every thing seems to work against us. Am sorry that I did not get off at the time set so that I could have been at the State Meeting. But enough - look for us when you see us – that is the best way then there will be no disappointments. All well. Our little girl all right again – if you are away from home much preaching and find any brother who is going to move here or wants to send him to me for a trade. Received Ran’s letter last week will not write till I find out whether we can come out there Times duller. Friends generally well - you seen Uncle C. and Aunt Sallie at McKinney – they have given you all news - cant write more now much love to all.
Your Brother,
Jesse Y McQuigg | |
