Easter 1943, Dear Mr. Carter Your son, Amon, Jr. and our son J. Luther Jr. were good friends and son always spoke highly of Amon. They had many happy days as when they served at Rivercreed and mens parties of mutal friends. We feel for you deeply in this hour of trial and pray that no harm will home to your dear boy in the prison camp and God grant him grace and fortitude to bear it until he can come home to you again. Our boys have worked for two years strong getting through medical school a year sooner than usual and he says he's got to bring his friends back home. We are pourd of our boys and may you find comfort in trusting god to bring you boy safely back to you.
