dc.description.transcription | Dear Mr. Carter - Knowing what a busy man you are, I hesitate to take your time, but at the same time, I also know though other people and your reputation has definitely interested you are in the well being of the soliders their close personal friends and relations. In a recent letter to me from Lt. Col William V. Martz told me that he had the pleasure of showing you around the various installations RAMP. Also, in this letter the he requested that I contact you and eexplain that I am the young lady from Waxachchie that he dismissed with you. Perhaps you will recall that he spent eight months with your son. Of course, it would mean a great deal to me to have the opportunity of a visit with you in this Oflag, but I take this means of our primary introductions. Also, I wish to thank you for the invitation you extended to Bill for us to be your guests when he returns. If you see fit, I shall be very glad to hear from you. SIncerely Margaret Eddlemen | |
