Dear Mr. Carter: Through my brother in law, Colonel Phillips, I received news that you had been with my husband Colonel Henion. It gave my boys and I such pleasure to have word from one who had seen him recently, and to know that he was ok. Thank you for taking the time tout from your many duties to convey the good news which you knew would reach us. SOmeday when this awful war is over I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you and your family and to be able to thank you personally for that very kind message. Sincerely, Elsie Henion
