To Mr. Carter's Secretary: I'm so sorry that I didn't ask you name when you called to tell me the news of my husband you received from Mr. Carter. It's really quite impossible for me to tell you how deeply I appreciate you call. Of course, I had felt he must ve in Africa and was worried by the lack of mail from him. It's such a wonderful feeling to have up to date news, even letters by air mail are so long in coming. It it's possible for you to do so, please convey my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Carter. Best wishes for the holidays, and once again, my thanks. Gretchen Hightower
