dc.description.transcriptionDear Mrs. Deakins Please forguive me for delaty in thanking you for your kindes and sweetness. When I treturnened here and I found a letter form on one of my fish seagrates who was captured in the same action with Amon Jr. this is the same action with Amon Jr. this 1st sgt. wrote and said he was back in the US after being a German prisoner for several months. He escapted. He is now in the Veterans hospital in Huntington, W.Va with pleurisy maloria and pneumonia. His mate no brief but he promised to send one full particulars. I am writing him tonight and shall ask for any news that you Mr. Carter would be interested in. Sorry that I did not get to see Mr. Carter when I am not there. We all feel that he is a member of the 1st armored Division and you are certaintly a more favored one. I hope that on my next visit that to Ft. Worth I will be able o see you and Mr. Cater.
