My Dear Amon and Mrs. Deakins Only people like yourselves could know how much these pictures mean to Lee and me! They will be framed and hung in Lee's room for the day he returns. He had received permission to make the trip he has been asking for, his only fear, now is that someone will hold his old injuries against hm and take him off the boat. He need not fear us as I know how he wants to go and I think anyone who wants to go so badly must have something contribute As you not "we" are traveling maybe we will have Amon Jr. for a Christas present and will that not be wonderful! Thanki you more than I can say. Most Sincerely, Kate L. Johnson Tuesday.
