Dear Amon: This is just a short note to let you know that I am ok and doing my part. I know some of the thoughts you must be thinking and I know how you must be feeling but don't forget that it's only temporary. By this time you may be receiving cigars etc. and I imagine the way the world situation is these days I imagine you'll deserve better treatment. Keep the old chin up and well have a big party after this big mess is over. Your cousin, 1st Lt. Phillip E. Laughlin
