dc.description.transcriptionThorp Spring, Tex.May 12, 1895Dear Brother:Walked around too much yesterday and was sick last night –still feeling very bad. Will rest all day and then will be all right. Think I can hold out to teach two weeks longer then will close my work. Am getting up exercises for Childrens Day in spite of circumstances. The exercises we had last June were enjoyed so much I felt like I must try to get up something this year. Carlie will go to Henrietta at time election and by to get a position. We are afraid to risk a written application. And I shall go to Comanche to try for a position. The position at Terrel is teacher of scienceand did not suit-Think I wrote this last week. Can’t remember what I do write.I will secure a position -if possible –and if when the time for work comes I am not well then will give it up. I must work if possible. Have some plans I’m very anxious to carry out and can’t without money.Don’t see how we can do on just a month talk with you. Know it will be better for you to come home as soon as you are through if we can possiblymanage and I think we can.There will much for you to do to get ready for your work next session –and during the last month of the summer we will all be so busy we can’t be together as much as we would want to. And it would be such a pleasure to mama,as well as all, for you to be here all summer.I feel like we out all be here and exert ourselves to make it pleasant for eachother, especially for mama, as we will all be away next session. What think you? The election at W–has been postponed –will be rejoiced when we hear from there. Election at H–comes this week I think. If you should be so fortunate as to secure that position –don’t accept until you hear from W–Must lay down. Much love. Sister.
