Thorp Spring -Texas.May 27, 1895.Dear Brother: Yesterday I went with papa to Granbury to preach. It was the first time I had been outside the gate for two weeks. I enjoyed the ride very much –but it was most too much for one day, and I had the headache very bad last night. Feel all right this morning, think I’ll be well soon.Only two weeks until the close –and we will be glad –very glad –yet a little sorry to see everyone leave. We can hardly wait forthe time for you to come –only a few weeks –it hardly seems real. Next Sunday is ChildrensDay, and I’m anxious about our exercises. I’ve had to leave most of the practice to the management of others, and I can’t feel it is as well done as if I had been there all the time. Papa wanted me to give it up when I got sick, but the children did not want to. Next Sunday is papa’s day at Comanche –and he can’t be here to hear the children. He enjoys their exercises so much -he can hardly stand to miss them, and he always brags so on them I want him to be here.We look for Blanche this week –don’t know what day yet –she may not come until the first of next week. Mr. F. G. Jones camewill be heresome time this week for some reason he has not written to me for over a month. Mr. Faris came home from Houston and Galveston Saturday and brought me some lovely magnolia blossoms and Cape Jassamines. They are so sweet. Am going to try to go to Granbury today if I can. Will certainly be glad when we hear from W-. You may have to put up with a $50 or $60 position –perhaps a country one. The positions incities and towns are flooded with applicants. Of course you and Carlie can find something to do if you should fail to find a position to teach. Am still hopeful that you will find good positions.Bro. Wilson will be here to lecture this evening. Excuse such a scribble. Much love.Yours-Sister.
