dc.description.transcription | Eastland, TexMar. 21, 1897.My dear Zemula:Nellie wanted to write to some one and I told her to write to you. She is a very sweet little girl and youwould like her very much. I think a great deal of the whole family, they are so good and sweet to me. I am enjoying my visit exceedingly, and feel so well.
I want to see all of you and feel like I can’t stay away long. Hope you are all well and helping mama all you can. Please tell mama to send my shirt patterns and my tight patterns also, I thought I had them in but must have left them in my trunk.Myrtle likes the shirt waist and collar very much. Mrs. Shannon gave me a pretty blue woollen waist and I want to make it soon, also goods fora white empire.I saw in the Dallas News the result of the meeting of the board and am disgusted. Was so provoked I could have cried. The crazy things. So we must endure Miss Hardy and Price and Kirk –and Kenneth. Well, it is useless to warn about it, but I am surely disappointed –more so about Miss White than any one.Mrs. Parks will make a good matron of course, but how can she do her duty as matron and mother?Much love to all.Yours-Sister.P.S. Two letters from home just received, very glad to hear. I know you have not time to write often and I do not expect it. Dear Bessie:I think “Old Day-light" will be a fine commencement piece, if you like it. I would send for some pieces if I had addresses, but you send for anything you know of. Brother will let you have the money for me. Do your best. I have found you the sweetest, prettiest fellow, Charlie Scott,-will write you more of him later. I think I will get him to go to AddRan. I will work for the university this summer if papa & brother wish. Sis | |
