My dear cousin Sarah, You will perhaps hardly credit me when I say, Iloveyou, and have an interest in your present and eternal welfare, -when, I have so long neglected you, I see now, that I have left mydutytoothers, because Ettieand mother wrote, I thought it not worth while for me to write. You and cousin Jesse both love the Lord and are striving tokeep his commandments, but do you want to see him? Would you love to have him come and stand upon this Earthin glory, as he once stood upon it in his humiliation? His precious blood is upon its soil, the foot prints of his feetthere, it has drank his tears, he has breathed its air, and will he leave it to perish? We turn to Ephesians 1:14and find that there is to be a “redemption of the purchased possession,” a bringing back of the earth, from its groaning state, to that of Eden. The earth was cursed under the first Adam (Gen 3:17) and the dominion of it was taken from man, but when the second Adam (or Christ)comes again, the curse will be removed (Rev 22:3) and the last rule returned to man. “We shall reign on the Earth” is a part of the song of the redeemed (Rev 5:9-10) (see also Dan 7:18, 22 27) until a veryshort period back the church, almost without a dissenting voice, we’rewatching for theBridegroom and praying for his return,-his personal return to Earth. But now, they point not with eager fingers, they look not with longing, expectant eyes to the coming of the Lord, as the period of their deliverance and reward, they expect to receive all that is promised at death. But you will find,my dear cousin, upon searching the word, that our inheritance, our stations in the kingdom, our crown of life that fadethnot away our rewards, are all to be given at the second coming of the Savior. “When the chief Shephard shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away,” (1Peter 5:4)When his glory is revealedwe are to be glad. (1Pet 4:13) and Paul says to ministry “Henceforth there is laid upforme a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge should give me at that day, and not to me only, but to all them also that love his appearing” (4:8 or 2 Tim) Jesus says “Behold I come as a thief, Blessed is he that watcheth” (Rev 16:15) If we are dead at the time of his coming, we are to be raised to immortality and incorruption -ifliving, we are to changed and caught up with the raised, to meet the Lord in the air (see 15 chap of 1 Cor) When he comes as a thief he is to take those who are looking for him into “the chambers,” the resurrected ones enteralso with the living -(Isaiah 26:19,20,21) When the indignation is over, or nearly so they come, with him in the clouds for the Lord is to come and all his saints with him, when every eye shall see him.You see, dear cousin, that those who love his appearing are blessed, are given the crown, and ohmayyou have this grace also given unto you –may you lean ______him as your dearest friend-“Unto them that look for____shallhe appear the second time without sin unto Salvation.” Watch! Be ready! Yours in love, Roxana [top of the 2ndpage]Remember me to Jesse.[top of the 1stpage]Ettie is not at all well, has taken cold and it has settled in her breasts –she has a sweetbabe.-Joy be yours as a wife Sarah! Searchthe scriptures –I will try to answer any questions you may ask, we will both learn that way.
