April 13 1943 A.G. Carter Ft Worth Kind sir, My sincere thanks for your letter of April 7 about my son Joe T. Sirek being prisoner of Japanese gov. I appreciate you interest and assure you that I am feeling much better that, know that he is alive it took about 10 months before I knew he was prisoner after the surrender of Corregidor and I am sympathetic with you having a son missing in North Africa and hope you will soon hear of him, only prayers can console us. Sincerely, Jane L. Sireik (?)
