Box 441 Bangs, Texas March 23, 1944 Dear Mr. Carter: Since you have had the same experience, you can appreciate the relief and happiness it brings me to hear my husband and two baby's father is in fine health. I had already had a Red Cross telegram that he was a German prisoner March 12 but no further details of any sort. Is there any restriction on how often he can write or we can write him? Also, is there any way we can send him things and if so, what do they need and appreciate most there? I am thanking you so much for your kind and generous ask in transmitting the information your son sent home so promptly to me. I trust they will all remain well and this war may soon be son. yours sincerely, Mrs. Rex H. Slinkard.
