dc.description.transcriptionWestby, Wis May 7, 1945 Dear Mr. Carter - Noticed in a Minneapolis paper your son Lt. Carter of Texas being released from a prison camp in Germany. Buchenwald. I lost my husband in a prison camp in April 13, 45. He was at Stalag 3A Luchenwalde but don't know where he was at the time of his death. PFe. Schreir was in the 106 inf. 424 Reg. Co A. went in Oct 44. If this is the Carter I am referring to I met he and his wife in Madison, Wisc in 43. Would be very happy to hear from you at any time . My husband Pfe. Edward W. Schreir died from pneumonia, diphtheria, and pleurisy. With lots of luck to you and your son I remain a lonesome war widow. Mrs. Garda Schrier Westby, Wis. Box 193
