Wednesday Dear Mr. Carter: It was very kind and generous of you to call yesterday, and I'll be delighted to be with you Saturday. Mother might come, too. As yet, I haven't received the pictures of Amon, Jr., and I had thought they'd surely be here today. And I have us news from Capt. Ray Cannon or Gen. Oliver, and so I'm writing again today to locate them. Our boys aren't safe, of course, but I don't believe they're in the fierce battle near Faid Pass. They're in the northern part of Tunisia, and have every confidence and faith that they are all right. I hope we can hear good news from them soon. Sincerely, Jane Wiedermann
