Carter Dear, Sir We rec'd a letter from Doyle Sat but it was written Sept 3rd He said that would be His last letter for He knew we were not getting them He said He wasn’t getting any mail. I don’t know just what he meant by what He said in this letter He said He hoped to be in by Juanita's (that's my daughter) 18th birthday which will be the 25th of this month I dont know where he thought the war would be over or what. The war news was sounding pretty good about that time but it doesn't sound so good now let me know if you have heard any late news Yours sincerely Mrs. A. A. Yardley
