Dublin, Texas 2.19-1945 Mr Amon, G. Carter Ft. Worth. Texas Dear Mr Carter, Rec'd your letter & information today in regards to our Dear boys. We had two letters & a card from Doyle written in Dec, the latest was Dec 28th, He told us about having turkey the first He had had in three years. He has been across almost three years. He was sure pouring it on the Red Cross. He said they went about seven weeks before receiving the Xmas parcel. Mr Carter I imagine they really went hungry. I went to the Chairman of the Red Cross. He said He knew the boys felt like the Red Cross had let them down. He said the Allies had blown up so many of the railroad that they had had a terrible time trying to get through to the prison camp. He said they were trying to establish a truck route to the camps. How does our mail get in & out if they cant get food to them & in order. Maybe the Russians will liberate them soon. I still believe God will protect them I Pray daily He will. He protected Daniel in the lions den & He can protect our poor boys in prison camps. if we will only keep Faith in Him. I thank you so much Mr Carter for this information. You know who to contact to get information. I've always told my friends that if any one could get the latest on them you could. Please let me know if you have any news at all about them. Thanks again. Yours Truely Mrs. A. A. Yardley (over) Tues, more Mr Carter after I finished your letter last night they told several times about Russians liberating several hundred Americans officers from Oflag 64 I just feel like it was our Dear boys. If I had a telephone I would have called you. Mr Carter if you get word that our boys are in the group please send me a telegram. It will be delivered by mail if the mail man can get around the roads are almost impossible to get over we live seven miles from the nearest telephone. Thanks so much P.S I sat up most all night listening for more news and every one would tell about the same thing that it was officers from Oflag 64. Mrs. Yardley
