dc.description.transcriptionDear Mr Carter (?) (?) (?) my again seeing you and expressing my personal gratitude for your (?) assistance during the trying days just past you (?) (?) of one departed friend was indeed an inspiration and (?) the feeling that the (?) that any of us could do was slight in comparison. It was indeed a sustaining thing & know that you were always on hand for aid and advice in the decision and accompaniment of (?) which I (?) were (?) and difficult - if mistakes were made they were of the heat and not the heart in pursuit of efforts (?) (?) Ben and the children and to (?) results which would not have been in (?) with the ideas and ideals of the simple, generous and noble character whose friendship was an inspiration and whose life was a benediction for all of us Faithfully yours Oscar Lawler Saturday 8-24-35
