Oct 7 - 1948. Dear Mrs. Carter I want to express my appreciation to you and Mr Carter for the very cordial reception at the tune of President Truman's visit to Fort Worth. Because he had a schedule that had to be met it did not permit time for visiting. I sincerely regretted not having the opportunity to thank you and your husband personally the orchids were so beautiful and caused as much comment all along the way, as the President's car. With best wishes to both of you and the hope that our paths may cross soon, I am Sincerely yours Hilda B. Weinert Mrs. Amon Carter Fort Worth Texas
