Description
Photo of Frank Hawks and Amon Carter in a plane. On reverse: "Amon Carter and Captain Frank Hawks landing at Bennett Field, N.Y. the night of March 30, 1932. Afte flight from Fort Worth described by Hawks as among the worst he had experienced. At one time during the storm the motor went dead and they prepared to use parachutes, however the motor picked up. Following this the wind blew part of the canvas off the right wing of the plane. Although a hazardous trip they finally landed safely." Signed on the front: "Amon If we'd known what we know now, - maybe we wouldn't have even started. Anyway we got there! Frank Hawks"
