dc.description.transcription | 45 Jersey St. San Francisco, Calif. March 29, 1943 Hello honey - So much has happened since I last heard from you that I hardly know where to begin. First of all, the family has grown so, you'd hardly recognize it. We only had Bobby when you were here and now we have Christine and Johnny too. Yep - three kids in all. Not bad, huh? Bobby is almost four - Christine will be 2 in August and Johnny is just 3 months old. If I do say so they're about the cutest kids any place. Bobby and Chris know you too. Remember that big picture you gave me. they show it to everyone and say "Uncle Mif" They're very proud of your uniform. now Bobby wants me to get him one too. He all ready has one like Daves. Dave is in the Navy and makes a very handsome sailor, too. Doris and Keith have another child too. Its a boy, Tommy, 5 months old. Dody is growing into a beautiful girl - almost 5 years old now. Everyone here is getting along swell. I write pretty regularly to Grandma and Grandpa and to Aunt Lucia. They're all in good health and will write to you too. Grandma Smith is also writing. Claude isn't with the Chronicle any more. He wokrs in the shipyards and likes the outdoor work. He worked inside so long - he got tired of it. He sends his regards and say to tell you that we've postponed our big "beer but" until you get back so you can go too. It wouldn't be any fun unless you were along. Well, I guess that will be all for now. The children are clamoring for breakfast and I have to start my daily routine. If I can send you anything let me know and I'll do my best to get it to you - no matter what it is. I'll write as often as I can and hope to hear from you. We've moved since you wrote last - 45 Jersey St. is the new number. Love and kisses Gin PRISONER OF WAR MAIL POSTAGE - FREE TECHNICAL SERGEANT SMITH L.
