Camp Bullis, Texas September 18, 1936 Dear Grandma and Grandpa- I received your letter to-day and was very glad to hear from you. Of course I was sorry to hear that you and grandpa and Uncle Cad are feeling so bad. I certainly hope all of you are feeling fit as a fiddle by the time this letter reaches you. I got a letter from Florence and Aunt Lucy about a week ago but haven't answered it yet. I inted to answer next week some time, if I can find the time. I understand there is to be another blessed event in the Propp's family in November. Florence said that she was a Holiness now and that she wasn't ashamed of it. She and one of the McClinton girls talked in the unknown tongue ofr a good while. I would have like to have been there, maybe I could have learned some of it. She also said Connie Dillahunty was going to hold a reivial! What is this world coming to! I wonder if Lurline and Elmer are very devout in their worship. I looks to me that Ray would be the best man to rent the place to. That is, if the place is going to be rented to anyone. I don't see how grandpa can work it. I have been at bullis nearly two weeks now, but it doesn't seem half that long. There is something to be done all the time. There are nearly ninety students at the present but about October the eight the number will be cut to about forty. In other words, the lower half in the scholastic rating will be eliminated. I might be and then again I might not. We arise at 6:00 am., have reveille at 6:10, and eat breakfast at 6:30. During that period bunks have to be made up, tent swept out clean and everything straightened. At 7:25 a.m. classes start and last until 11:45 a.m. There are four periods of one hour and five minutes each in the morning. We eat dinner at 12:00 and classes start again at 1:00. There is only one class period in the afternoon and it is over at about 2:05. At 2:30 Athletics (boxing, swimming, tennis & base-ball) start and last until four. At 5:00 we eat supper and immediately everyone begins studying for the next day. Study for the majority last until about 10:00 or 11:00 p.m. The student body is divided into sections. I am in section "C". We have Ancient History the first period and the lessons are 20 page are more every day. The second period is study hall and the third is math, alternating between Algebra and Plane Geometry every other day. They have from 20 to 30 every day. Fourt period is English and alternates English Grammar and English Literature. English Grammar usually consist of 10 or 15 pages and English literature has about 30 pages. So you can see that we really have to study. I never studied so hard in all my life. Well, I can't write any longer as I'm sending this letter in to town to be mailed by some of the boys. This is Saturday. I started this morning where all the blots are on the paper. Take care of yourself and tell everyone hello. Smith S.L. Green West Point Prep School Camp Bullis Texas Mr. W.M.
