Fort Sam Houston, Texas May 1, 1937 Dear Grandma and Grandpa, How is every body by now? I hope every one is in the best of health. I am feeling fine as usual. I was glad to get the program for the Senior Play. It seems kinda funny to think about all the kids that I used to know are all grown up now and are Seniors in High School. They were Freshmen when I graduated. It doesn't seem to me that I have been gone for two years. I would like to be there for the commencement exercises but I can't. Our rang season has been put off until May 15 so it will be June at least before I can come home. I'm going to cut down on expenses ths month so I will have enough to come home on. I'll tell you a few days in advance. We got five of the new fast tanks this week. Two arrived about Sunday and three more came Tuesday. We are to get 13 more by October. I rode in one last Wednesday. They are the latest thing and are the best in the world. No one is allowed to see the inside but the men of the second Tank Co. and various officers. We are not allowed to talk about them outside of the Co. I'll send you some pictures of them sometime. Tell everyone hello for me. I hope Ray is over his rheumatism by now. Tell Florence and Beatrice that I haven't forgotten them. I will write them sometime. Virginia is engaged and is going to get married next year. He is an Englishman, born in England, named Claude Lillian. Well, I must close. Write soon. Lots of love Smith. S. Green 2nd Tank Co. Ft. Sam Houston Texas Mr. W.M.
