dc.description.transcription4142- 24th St. San Francisco, Calif. January 6, 1942 Dear Grandma and Grandpa- I'm writing to you because I'm so worried about Smith. Have you heard from him lately? If you've had any word at all won't you please write and let me know? The last letter I had from him was in July and that quite some time ago, so naturally, I can't help but wondering if he is all right. Everyone out here is getting along just fine. Dave is quite a grown up young man and Doris, as you probably know is married and has a 3 year old daughter. As for myself I have 2 children now. The boy is 2 years old and I have a new daughter, who will be 5 months old this week. Someday, perhaps, we will be able to visit you, but in the meantime, I would certainly like to hear from you both and find out something about the rest of the family. Please try to answer and let me know about Smith - I would appreciate it very much. I must close now - awaiting an early answer. Lovingly Virginia Mrs. C.
