Ft. Sam Houston July 31, 1939 Dear Grandma and Grandpa, I rec't yours and Aunt Lucia's letter a few days ago and of course was glad to get it. I'm writing this letter rather hurriedly so it can get in this morning's mail, so it will be rather brief. I haven't much to say any how. I will be re-enlisted tomorrow for foreign service, Phillipine Department and will leave for home tomorrow evening or Wednesday morning. Therefore I will be there on either the second or third of August if the bust lines run according to schedule. I am in the best of health and hope both of you are the same. Give my regards to everybody Lots of Love, Smith. S. Green 2nd Tank Co. Ft. Sam Houston TExas Mr. W.M. Green Box 426 Broken Bow, Oklahoma
