dc.description.transcription | Oakland, Calif. Nov. 14, 1942 Dear folk, How are you these days? Do you know I haven't gotten a scratch from home yet, Mrs. Price says it takes a week to get a letter from out here, if it isn't sent air mail, so I'm going to send this air mail and see how long it takes. I got one from dad last nite with my tire No's so I can register today for my gas card. Have you been getting my letters and cards? I think this will be about four letters and cards together I've written you. I found some coups in one of my purses and I'm going to send them to you and I wish you would mail last weeks Broken Bow News and McCurtain Gazette to me please, of course you cant use the coups for that, but you can for other things, and be sure to write me all the news, I'll bet I've written fifty cards and lettersand not one word from any body but dad. It rained here last nite, but never has done more than sprinkle, have you had rain or any cold spell since we left? Its been real warm out here we went to town yesterday and I didn't wear any coat, every time I've gone I'd burn down before I got back, so I went prepared and it did turn colder but not bad. Did Eva come get the pkg. I left on the divan and mail it, I ask her to, she insisted when I left if I thought of any thing, to tell her, that was a dumb trick, see I had written Vada I was sending it, then didn't and they were meeting the postman every day looking for it, I sent her an air mail letter for her not to look for two weeks now. I'd like a mess of your turnip greens ha! Of course we can get anything here we want but we haven't had time to cook them ha. I'm going to put in a card with my address on it and Mr. Green I wish you would give it to that P.O. force, it might be that Mr. Dodd never did get the card I mailed him Now write me. Lots of love, Ward 1615 West St. Oakland, Calif. Ward? again Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Green Broken Bow, Okla | |
