dc.description.transcription | MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR Dear Grandma & Grandpa, I rec'd your letter a few days ago and can't begin to tell you how glad I was to get it. Any news from home is certainley appreciated. I am in good health and hope you are even better. Some of that cold weather would be nice here. This is the cool season now. I wonder how hot it is during the hot weather. However it isn't so bad now. I'm about to get used to the rain nearly every day. The sun doesn't seem to be so awfully hot because its usually cloudy, but the air is very warm. It doesn't look as if we're going to have a white Christmas! arf, arf! Say hello to every one and tell them that I'd appreciate hear from them all. Love to "Simon" and three cheers for her new teeth. I'm going to cut this short as its more or less a Christmas card. I'll write a letter later Oh yes! was the miss Brown you mentioned my old school teacher or the young lady I met while there? Lots and lots of love Write soon, Smith S. GREEN HQ. CO. 31ST INF.
