dc.description.abstract | This collection of five creative nonfiction stories and essays explores subjects as wide-ranging as the bonds formed in a TESOL certification classes to returning OEF/OIF veterans to accusations of first-degree murder. Creative nonfiction is, per Phillip Lopate's definition, a "notoriously flexible and adaptable form. It possess the freedom to move anywhere, in all directions." This freedom is evident in this collection, with narrative, personal, collage, and contemplative essays, among others, matching form to content. | |
