Letter from Inez Deckard (of Port Arthur) to Oscar Monnig telling him that she, her husband, and their daughter observed the fall while they were on the road to Tyler, Texas as a part of the evacuations ahead of Hurricane Carla. She says that she had held off on writing to him immediately as she does not desire for those in the Port Arthur community to think that she is seeking attention or note for her family (as apparently they already hold several positions/roles of note locally) lest it lead to resentment, but she did want him to know what they had seen.
