dc.description.transcription | Texas Observers Ft. Worth, Tex., Jan. 21, 1934 Dear Mr. Gifford, Some months ago I got a little meteorite from you, weighing 1/2 pound. While I was writing you about it and figuring with you on buying it and several others you had, a friend of mine, Mr. H. H. Nininger of Denver, Colo., came thru here. He was anxious to get some of these for his museum, and I gave him your name and told him to see you about those you had. When he came back thru here, he told me had closed a deal with you. Not having heard from you any more, I assume that he settled with you for the whole lot. If he did not, please let me know, as I do not want to keep your meteorite without your getting something for it. Mr. Nininger offered to divide with me the bunch he had bought, and I told him to just keep them, and we would call the matter square. I have since had two or three other interested scientists ask for some specimens of these meteors, and if you have any more or hear of any more, I wish you would send them to me. I will pay around $4 or $5 a pound, depending on the condition of the meteorite. With best wishes, I am Yours sincerely, Oscar E. Monnig 312 W. Leuda, Ft. Worth, Tex. Deport Tex 5-6-34 Oscar E.
