dc.description.transcription | Aug. 27, '51 Dear Monnig: For some reason your letter did not reach us until the 24th and that day found us taking our "day off" without time to go over mail. Then yesterday we could not get to town. We do appreciate your thinking of the note we sent you on the Tennessee specimen, but we have been able to get no more information than that sent you and that which your letter contains. It may be impossible to contact the man even when you are on the ground. However, as you know, finders of specimens sometimes behanve in unaccountable ways. If you find him and the speicmen you need not feel seriously obligated to us, just anything that seems fail will be appreciated here. I hope you have a good trip. Cordially H. H. N. | |
