dc.description.transcription | June 12, 1975 Dear Oscar I will attempt to answer your post card and letter together in this letter. If you promise not to tell anyone (because I have an agreement with the publisher) I can get you a copy of Nagy's book and the Buchwald book at 40% off. The members of the Meteoritical Society will be offered a 25% discount for the Buchwald book - I don't know about the Nagy book but I will ask him to inquire. I can send the Nagy book now since it has been published but the Buchwald book will not arrive until about September. I have a thin slice of Haven of 25 g. It is a rusty-black chondrite with no particular distinction. I am enclosing a copy of the original article on the stone. How much material Morley got to study is a problem. We can run an olivine composition on our piece and a small chip of your piece if you wish to see if they are identical. This can be done rapidly on our microprobe. The 1966 Hey catalog is the most recent. I have heard a supplement is being prepared for publication soon. If you wish to borrow our small piece of Haven I will be glad to send it. We are always glad to help you in any way we can. With best wishes, Carleton | |
