dc.description.transcription | April 16 1961 Oscar E. Monnig Ft Worth Texas Dear Sir: Your letter of March 30 received and the "Dread" that you have is needless. The meteorite was actually found in a very inaccessible canyon no way in until these boys cut a Jeep trail down a sheer canyon wall (800 ft) - three reliable witnesses to the fact that it was found there. The pilot refused to fly it out and the finder had to come back in a Jeep after it - a 14 hour trip. Best regards Porter Rankin | |
