Tricky Translations: An Artistic Study Incorporating The Translation Of Religious Music

Abstract

This project represents my work in translation from the past two years. After spending a summer in the Dominican Republic, I decided to create a written album of Spanish versions of English Christian worship hymns. Aside from the usual difficulties of translation, I was obligated to adhere to the rules and limitations of musical lyrics and reflect the same theological truths in my songs that exist in the originals.
