Abstract | This study investigated the possible relationship between mental toughness and athletic identity in student athletes, who identify as African-American. This research used a correlational analysis to look at the subcomponents of both mental toughness and athletic identity. Participants, after giving consent, filled out a demographic questionnaire, the athletic identity measurement scale, as well as the mental toughness questionnaire. Results suggested that participants scored high on both mental toughness and athletic identity, but male athletes scored higher on athletic identity. |
