Abstract | Absolute doubly differential K shell ionization cross sections (DDCS) for Cu and Ag, and fully differential bremsstrahlung cross sections (TDCS) for Cu, Ag and TbF$\sb3$ have been measured using a coincidence technique. The incident electron energies were 100 keV and 140 keV. A new Multi-Parameter Coincidence Spectrometer was developed to carry out these measurements. Comparisons of DDCS of Ag at 140 keV with previous measurements have been made. The dependance of the DDCS on the characteristic X-ray emission angle has been checked by placing the photon detector at 45$\sp\circ$ and 90$\sp\circ$. The electron detector was placed at 45$\sp\circ$. The TDCS has been compared with the Bethe-Heitler formula. The photon energy dependance of the bremsstrahlung DDCS has been measured for photon emission at 0$\sp\circ$ for 50 keV electrons incident on Ag, TbF$\sb3$, Au and UF$\sb4$. A new technique called the difference method has been used for the measurement. A physical model of the experiment has been created, and comparisons have been made with the model and the bremsstrahlung DDCS. |
