| Description | Letter from Oscar Monnig to Edward P. Henderson (of the Smithsonian Institution) letting him know that the mother of Glen Orr (the finder of Tishomingo meteorite) has dropped off a larger specimen of the meteorite with him and that he will be expressing it onward to Henderson. Says that he is certain that it will prove to be a meteorite, or that no one should ever again be able to say they can identify a meteorite by sight. Also asks for Henderson to send him a written explanation of why the museum's scientists are hesitant to call Tishomingo a meteorite so that he can better understand. |
