Letter from Oscar Monnig to Edward P. Henderson (of the Smithsonian Institution) thanking him for his previous letter explaining various parts of the cutting process, including why they are not cutting on the flat sides, and why cuttings cannot be saved for future use. Says not to encase either cut portion until they can speak further, and not to in any hurry to make a return of the material. Mentions that he has recently learned that Whiteley was not technically the landowner, but rather renting from a third, unnamed, party who has since sold the land to a fourth, also unnamed, party. Finally, asks if Henderson will ever give name to the material makeup of the Tishomingo meteorite.
