| Abstract | Since its official inception in 2007, the field of impact investing has grown in size of assets invested, research, and ability to measure results. Many of the world's largest actors in the private, public, and NGO sector have recognized this new field as more than a charitable tool but rather as a fundamental shift in the way investment is viewed and measured. Not only does the momentum of impact investing affect the way international development initiatives are funded and executed, but it greatly affects on the financial services industry and the investors of the future. Universities have a crucial role to play as capacity builders for the field as well as educators of the next generation of impact investors. This thesis studies the impact investing initiatives of four Universities in the region, country, and globe, in order to make recommendations for TCU to develop an initiative strongly aligned with the values of the University and deeply relevant to the current impact investing landscape. |
